Storage

Flokan's Storage system is a full file management platform built into your workspace. It works like Google Drive or Dropbox, but integrated directly into your production workflow — so your scripts, thumbnails, video files, voiceovers, and documents all live alongside your boards and automations.

File & Folder Organization

Folder Tree

Storage uses a familiar hierarchical folder structure. Create nested folders to organize your production assets however makes sense for your team:

For example, you might organize your storage like this:

• Season 1/ containing episode folders, each with scripts, thumbnails, B-roll, and final cuts
• Brand Assets/ for logos, fonts, and templates
• Music Library/ for audio files
• Shared Documents/ for team-wide files

Create folders by clicking the New Folder button. Rename or move folders by right-clicking. There's no limit on folder depth or the number of items per folder.

Drag and Drop

Move files and folders by dragging them to a new location. You can drag:

• A file into a folder
• A file between folders in the sidebar tree
• Multiple selected files at once
• Folders into other folders

View Modes

Toggle between two view modes:

• Grid View — Displays files as visual cards with thumbnail previews. Ideal for visual assets like images, thumbnails, and videos where you need to see what each file looks like.
• List View — Displays files in a compact table with columns for name, size, date modified, and type. Ideal for text files, scripts, and when you need to see many files at once.

Virtual Folders

In addition to your custom folder hierarchy, Flokan provides smart virtual folders that automatically aggregate content:

File Operations

Upload

Upload files by:

• Drag and drop — Drag files from your computer directly into the Storage area
• Click to upload — Click the Upload button and select files from your file browser
• Bulk upload — Select multiple files at once for batch uploading

During upload, a progress indicator shows the status of each file. Large files are uploaded in chunks for reliability.

Download

Download any file by clicking the download button or right-clicking and selecting Download. You can also download entire folders as archives.

Share

Generate public sharing links for any file:

• Public links allow anyone with the URL to view or download the file, without needing a Flokan account
• Control whether shared links allow viewing only or also downloading
• Revoke sharing links at any time

Bulk Operations

Select multiple files (click while holding Shift or Ctrl/Cmd) to perform batch operations:

• Move multiple files to a folder
• Delete multiple files
• Download multiple files

File Preview

Flokan has built-in previews for common file types — no need to download files just to see what's in them:

Permissions

Storage uses a hierarchical permission model:

• Inheritance — By default, items inherit permissions from their parent folder. If a folder is accessible to a user, all files within it are too.
• Per-item overrides — You can set custom permissions on individual files or folders that override the inherited permissions.
• Permission levels:
  • View — Can see and download the file
  • Edit — Can modify file content (for documents) or replace the file
  • Share — Can generate public sharing links
  • Manage — Can change permissions, move, and delete the item

Storage Limits

Your storage space depends on your subscription plan:

When approaching your storage limit, Flokan displays a warning. If you exceed the limit, you won't be able to upload new files until you free up space or upgrade your plan.
